Key Features
Seamless Automation
Integrated applications with automation enabled will automatically process access requests.

Release Note: Tasks in ITH - Initial Release
We are excited to announce significant improvements to our platform with the decoupling of notifications and tasks. Tasks are now living in a lightweight task management page, with enhanced functionality and accessibility. This is our initial release which will allow the platform to expand on task management features in 2025. Below are the details of the new features and changes:
Key Features:
Top Navigation:
Clear Organization: The separation of notifications and tasks in the top navigation ensures a more intuitive user experience.
Tasks Page:
ALL versus MY tasks: An admin user(s) in the organization can see all of the tasks in their company, or filter for just the tasks assigned for the individual. Employee users will not see the ALL option instead only seeing the tasks assigned directly to the employee.
Comprehensive task table view: Displays a complete list of requests, in a table format consistent with the platform's look and feel.
Filter functionality: Enables both employee and admin users to find specific requests based on their status of open, complete, or canceled – as well as sorting the table by created date and status.
Action-specific buttons: Some tasks will have a specific call to action button – such as “equip new hire” if the task is for the admin to purchase a new device for a new employee.
Task Details Page:
Dynamic detail rendering: Displays all necessary information for fulfilling a request, including additional details based on the request type or category, links to the correct place to complete the action, the employee making the request, and the date.
What’s Changed:
Decoupling Notifications and Tasks: Tasks are now independent and can be listed, filtered, and searched in a proper task management interface.
Notifications for their intended purpose: Notifications will still be created by tasks, but will serve solely to direct users to the task details page if it is a request that requires action. Notifications will continue to be used for non-actionable communications, such as confirming when all the tasks in an onboarding have been completed.
Why It Matters:
A clear task management interface is essential for administrators because it streamlines their ability to efficiently oversee and manage their IT activities. By providing an organized system, users can quickly view and complete tasks, monitor progress across the organization, and address open tasks. This boosts productivity and reduces errors when needing to complete the tasks generated as a part of being the defacto or full-time IT administrator. This new task management interface enhances the overall user experience, promotes smoother operations, and higher satisfaction for both administrators and their employees when working with IT related tasks.
Sincerely,
The Electric Team ⚡
