Licensed Employees

Introduction

Your Licensed Employees page is the command center for your entire active workforce in Electric. Every employee listed here holds a license, giving them access to the tools, applications, and resources they need to do their best work. From a single view, you can monitor employee status, track onboarding and offboarding progress, and take action across your team, whether you're managing one employee or hundreds. Think of it as your full electrical panel: every active circuit in one place, ready to be monitored, managed, and optimized.

Feature Details

The Employee Table

The Licensed Employees page displays a table of all employees currently holding an active Electric license. By default, the table shows each employee's Name and available Actions, which are always visible regardless of how you configure your view.

Customize Your Columns

Need more signal in your view? Use the Customize Columns option to surface the data that matters most to your workflow. Additional columns you can add include:

  • Job Title - The employee's role as recorded in their profile

  • Task Flow - The active HR or IT flow associated with the employee (see below)

  • Devices - Allows you to filter on if an employee has an assigned device or not

  • Groups - The groups the employee belongs to, which determine their application access

  • Status - The current state of the employee record in Electric

  • OS - The operating system on the employee's assigned device

  • Start Date - The employee's start date as recorded in Electric

  • Termination Date: Employees termination date. This will not appear until the Off board employee task has been completed.

  • Manager: Manager assigned in Electric

  • Date Added: Date added to Electric

Understanding Task Flow

The Task Flow column gives you a real-time read on where each employee stands in their IT journey. Here's what each status means:

  • No Task Flow - This employee is not currently going through any active HR or IT flow. All is steady on the circuit.

  • IT Setup Pending - This employee was imported from your HR system and has an open "Complete IT Setup" task. Their IT onboarding hasn't kicked off yet.

  • Offboard Pending - Your HR system has triggered an offboarding, and there is an open task to initiate IT offboarding for this employee.

  • Onboarding - The "Complete IT Setup" task has been completed. There are open tasks to grant application access and/or equip the new hire with a device.

  • Offboarding - The "Offboard Employee" task has been completed. There are open tasks to revoke application access associated with the offboarding.

Bulk Actions

When you need to take action across multiple employees at once, bulk actions let you move fast without sacrificing control.

How to Use Bulk Actions

To perform a bulk action:

  1. Check the box next to each employee you want to include

  2. Select the Actions button

  3. Choose the action you want to perform

Selecting Across All Pages: To act on your entire employee list, first select all employees on the current page using the checkbox in the table header. A link will appear at the top of the table that reads "Select all ## across all pages." Clicking this extends your selection across every page, so your bulk action applies to everyone, not just who's visible on screen.

Note: Actions are context-sensitive. If your current filters don't align with the action you're trying to perform, the Actions menu will reflect that. For example, if you want to send enrollment reminders, first filter for Devices = No to surface employees without a device enrolled. The Send Enrollment Reminder option will then appear in the Actions menu.

Available Bulk Actions

Mark as Unlicensed Immediately removes the license from the selected employee(s). This will NOT trigger application access revocation. However, if you are on the Pro plan, it will trigger the removal of MDM from the employee's device without wiping or locking it.

Add Applications Bulk add one-off applications directly to selected employees' profiles. This does not add applications to a group; it adds them only to the individual employees you have selected.

When adding applications, you will be prompted to indicate whether the employee already has access:

  • Yes, they already have access - The application is added to the employee's profile with no further action taken

  • No, they do not have access - Grant access tasks are created for each selected employee. If you have automation configured for that application, it will run immediately for all selected employees

Download Selected Downloads a list of the selected employees. Please note this export includes only each employee's name, email address, and job title.

Resend Invites Sends a fresh invitation to the selected employees to log in to Electric.

Send Enrollment Reminder (Pro plan only) Sends an invitation to selected employees to install Electric on their device. This is a security-focused action designed to ensure devices are enrolled and protected.

At the top of the Licensed Employees page, you'll find quick navigation to related employee views:

  • Unlicensed - Employees who do not currently hold a license

  • Pending - Employees awaiting a license assignment

  • All - A complete view of every employee across licensed, unlicensed, and pending statuses

Each of these views is covered in its own dedicated article.
