How to Assign a Device to an Employee from their Employee Profile

This article walks you through the process for assigning a device to an employee from their Employee Profile in Turbine.

Introduction

The Employee Profiles in Turbine are intended to display the attributes for each of your employees. This includes information about the employee's assigned device(s). However, if an employee has not been assigned a device in Turbine, you will not have visibility to important insights such as device disk space, operating system, status, and encryption.

The following process is helpful when you have only a handful of device assignments to complete. If you need to perform device assignment for a high volume of employees, check out this article to learn how to prompt a bulk action from the Device Management page.

Steps to Assign a Device to an Employee Profile

  1. Open the Employee Profile for the employee that requires a device assignment.

  2. You'll see a message that says "This employee does not have an assigned device. Assign a device to the employee to allow Electric to manage it on your behalf."

  3. Click the Assign Device button beneath this message. A window titled Add device for Employee will pop-up on the page.

  4. In the Add Device for Employee window, select a device from the Device Name / Serial Number dropdown.

  5. Click the Add Device button. This will close the window.

  6. You should now see information for the selected device in the employee's profile.
