How to install the Electric IT Hub Desktop App.

Introduction

The Electric Desktop Application is designed to streamline the employee device assignment process, enhance productivity for your employees, and deliver critical security software. It’s a quick and essential step to help the device’s performance and security register in the IT Hub, but rest assured—your personal data won’t be monitored. We’re only utilizing security-related analytics to keep your business safe.

After installation on an employee’s device, it provides access to helpful links, ensuring new hires have the resources they need without hassle. This centralized access helps employees get up to speed faster and stay organized. Additionally, it powers the data you see in a large section of the IT Hub and is the method to deliver the MDM software to your employees.

Employees need to get their work device set up after the administrator of an account configures your MDM. See below for step by step based on where you are in your device fleet enrollment process.

Note: MDM is only available to customers on our paid plans. If you are unsure if your employer requires you to have MDM after installing the app, please contact our product support team.


How to Install the Electric Desktop Application

  1. Click this link to access the Electric Desktop Application download page.

  2. On the page, click the ‘Download’ button.

3. Once the file has been downloaded, locate it in your computer Downloads folder. Double-click to start the installation.

4. Open the Electric Desktop Application on your work device.

5. Login with your Electric credentials (sent to your work email).

Clicking “Sign In” will open a new tab with the screen below in your default browser where you can type in your IT Hub credentials.

Once you've logged in, click “Next” to install the Electric App.

6. On the Install Electric step, click the ‘Install application’ button and enter your device's password in the pop-up below and click “OK”.


How to Enroll in MDM

  1. Install the Electric Desktop Application from the above steps if you haven’t already.

  2. Open the Electric Desktop Application on your work device.

  3. Login with your Electric credentials (sent to your work email).

  4. When you’re on the "Enroll in MDM" step click the ‘Start Enrollment’ button.

5. Your computer will automatically download the Jumpcloud MDM.

6. In your Downloads folder, double-click ‘MDM Enrollment Profile’.

7. Enter your device’s username and password.

8. Return to the Electric app and click “Check if you’re enrolled”

9. If you see this checkmark, you’re good to go!
