Electric IT Hub + JumpCloud: How to set up MDM

Getting Started

Jumpcloud MDM allows Electric customers to manage users, devices, access, and security policies with ease. To set up MDM in the Electric IT Hub, follow the steps below.

Note: It is currently only available to Pro Package customers.


Step 1

Navigate to the Settings page


Step 2

On the “Device Management” tab, click “Start MDM setup”


Step 3

Select “Yes” or “No” and then click “Set up MDM”

Go to step 5 if you do not have Apple devices


Step 4

Our Product Support team will reach out to set up the Apple/JumpCloud certificates


Step 5

After the certificate exchanges are completed (Macs only), you can email employees to get the JumpCloud agent installed on their devices.

All set! Once MDM is provisioned, the customer's employees must install the JumpCloud Agent for the default policies to be applied to their devices. Please reference this document for details on the enrollment process.


Installing the JumpCloud Agent

For JumpCloud MDM to push out critical security policies, JumpCloud's MDM Agent must be installed on your devices. This article will show you the steps you need to take to enable MDM.


Step 1: Open or download the Desktop App

You will receive an email from your IT Hub admin detailing how you can download or open the Electric Desktop App.


Once you hit download, the Desktop App install will now appear in your device's Downloads folder.

Once you've double-clicked on the download file, you will need to follow the instructions below to open the Desktop App.


Step 2: Sign in to your Electric Account

After opening the Desktop App from the Applications folder, sign in with your Electric IT Hub credentials.

Clicking “Sign In” will open a new tab with the screen below in your default browser where you can type in your IT Hub credentials.

Once you've logged in, click “Next” to install the Electric App.


Step 3: Install the Electric Desktop App

To install the Electric App, enter your device's password in the pop-up below and click “OK”.

Once the Desktop App is installed, follow the instructions below to enroll in MDM.


Step 4: Enroll in MDM

JumpCloud's MDM is designed to keep your devices safe and running efficiently. To enroll in MDM, click “Start Enrollment”.

Once you click “Start Enrollment”, your System Settings will automatically open and the JumpCloud MDM profile will be downloaded automatically.

Follow the detailed steps provided in the Electric Desktop App to finish installing the JumpCloud Agent.

Once you've completed the steps above, your device will be enrolled in MDM!
