Installation Protection is one of the default security controls that is supported by Electric. Policies will vary based on the device manufacturer, keep reading to learn more!

Gatekeeper for Macs

Gatekeeper is a security feature of macOS that ensures only trusted software is allowed to run. It enforces code signing and verifies that downloaded applications are from a trusted developer and have not been altered, thereby reducing the likelihood of inadvertently executing malware.

How the Policy Works

  • Electric will enable the Jamf Pro to remotely enforce Gatekeeper is turned on for existing and future Electric-managed Macs.

  • Results may take up to 1 day before reflecting in the Device Management page in Turbine.

User Account Control for PCs

User Account Control (UAC) is a security feature integrated into Windows 10 Operating Systems. It checks any files or applications downloaded to PCs for potentially malicious content before opening them.

How the Policy Works

  • Electric will enable User Account Control through Kaseya for existing and future Electric-managed Windows PCs.

  • User Account Control will remain enabled even if Microsoft Defender is turned off.

  • Results may take up to 1 day before reflecting in the Device Management page in Turbine.
