Introduction

This article provides answers to commonly asked questions about Turbine user permissions.

Permissions by Package

My company has the Basic package - what Turbine roles do we have?

Admin and Super Admin.

My company has the Core package - what Turbine roles do we have?

All Turbine roles: Onboarder/Offboarder, Reporter, Admin, and Super Admin.

If the Basic package does not have the Onboarder/Offboarder role, who can complete my onboarding and offboarding requests?

Your Turbine Admin(s) and Super Admin.

If the Basic package does not have the Reporter role, who can view and assess Turbine reporting for employees and their devices?

Your Turbine Admin(s) and Super Admin.

Super Admins

What makes a Super Admin different from an Admin?

The Super Admin can perform all possible actions in Turbine, while the Admin (and other roles) have some restrictions. The primary difference between Admins and Super Admins is that Super Admins can create/edit the Super Admin for your company. Admins cannot.

How many Super Admins can my company have?

Customers with the Basic package can have one Super Admin. Customers with the Core package can have multiple Super Admins.

Our Super Admin left the company unexpectedly. What do I do to reassign this role?

If your company has multiple Super Admins, a remaining Super Admin can remove the former Super Admin in Turbine and add a replacement (if desired).

If your company only had one Super Admin, the Admin submitting the Super Admin's offboarding request will be required to designate a new Super Admin at the time of the request. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you need additional support.

Hub Users

I can also see a "Hub User" role on the Role Settings page - what is this?

Hub Users have access to the Electric User Hub, an extension of Electric's platform. These users, unless they are also assigned one of the roles mentioned here, will not have access to your Turbine workspace.
