How to Unlock a Device in Turbine

Learn what steps to take in Turbine to lock an employee's device.

Introduction

You had to lock an employee's device for security reasons, but that issue has since been resolved. Unlocking the employee's device can be completed easily in Turbine, just refer to the process below.

Steps to Unlock a Device

  1. Sign in to Turbine and navigate to the Device Management page.

  2. Scroll to the right inside the Devices pane and click the Actions icon.

  3. Select Unlock Device from the dropdown. The next steps will vary based on whether the device manufacturer is Apple or Windows.

Next steps for Macs

  1. An Unlock Code will appear on your screen.

  2. An Unlock Code entry field will appear on the Mac device you wish to unlock.

  3. Send the code to the designated person or type the code into the Mac device you wish to unlock.

  4. Reload the page; the device should show a Pending unlock status.

  5. Once the device lock is complete, the unlock status will change to Success.

Next steps for Windows

  1. A prompt will appear on the screen explaining what unlocking the device will do.

  2. After reading the message, confirm that you want to unlock a device by selecting the check box to the left of the employee's name.

  3. Click the Unlock Device button to finalize the action.

  4. A message will appear confirming device unlock is in progress.

  5. Reload the page; the device should show a Pending unlock status.

  6. Once the device lock is complete, the unlock status will change to Success.
