Introduction
Occasionally Electric will ask you to provide your computer’s serial number to confirm that we are taking action on the correct device. Below are instructions for how to find the serial number for a PC or Mac device.
Did you know? Your laptop’s serial number may be printed on a sticker on the back of your computer. If you can't see it on the exterior of your device, refer to the steps below.
How to Find Your PC Serial Number
Click Start and type cmd into the search box at the bottom-left of the screen.
Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
In the Command Prompt window that appears, copy and paste: wmic bios get serialnumber and press Enter.
The Serial Number appears, as shown in the image below, within the white area.

How to Find Your Mac Serial Number
Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.
Select About This Mac from the dropdown list.
You will find your serial number in the Overview section.
