This reporting dashboard gives insights to customer's Malwarebytes data.

Updated over a week ago

Introduction

The Malwarebytes dashboard, found in Turbine, is only visible to Core Package customers that have paid for a Malwarebytes add on. This dashboard contains information such as: protected devices, types of threats detected, and devices that require reboot. This article will break down the key features of the dashboard.

What does this dashboard look like?

Key Features of the Malwarebytes Dashboard

Below are descriptions of the key features of the Malwarebytes reporting dashboard, which include unique metric tiles, device protection, and more.

Insight Tiles

The tiles featured at the top of the page provide an overview of your Malwarebytes data. You are able to click on each tile in order to see more specific data about that tile. There are five different tiles, each is described below.

  • Information Events Last 30 Days - Indicates the number of Information Events scanned by Malwarebytes within the last 30 days.

  • Devices with Reboot Required - The number of devices that Malwarebytes needs a user(s) to restart; this is required for to complete remediation or make changes to software.

  • Devices Restored or Cleaned - Number of devices that were restored or experienced a threat that was cleaned.

  • Machines Registered: Prior 30 Days - Number of devices registered to your company’s Malwarebytes instance in the last 30 days.

  • Devices Scanned: Last 24 hours - Number of company registered devices scanned in the past 24 hours.

Protected Devices

This dashboard provides visibility to which company devices are protected under Malwarebytes. Within the Protected Devices table, the Protection Status column will indicate whether a device is Protected, Unprotected, Unknown, or Scan Only.

  • Protected - Device is protected by Malwarebytes.

  • Unprotected - Device is not protected by Malwarebytes.

  • Unknown - It is unknown whether this device is protected or not.

  • Scan Only - Device is only scanning for threats; no remediation is occurring.

This can be adjusted within the Malwarebytes console by an administrator. For support, please contact Electric via the Electric User Hub or consult with your Customer Success Manager.

Event vs. Detection

There are 6 types of threats reported on the dashboard, each described below:

  • Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP) - Programs that may include advertising, toolbars, and pop-ups that are unrelated to the software you downloaded. PUPs often come bundled with other software that you installed.

  • Potentially Unwanted Modifications (PUM) - An alteration made to a computer's registry (or other settings), which either damages the computer or changes its behavior without knowledge of the user. Such unwanted alterations can be done by legitimate software, malware, grayware, or PUP.

  • Malwarebytes Web Access Controller (MWAC) - Used by Malwarebytes for the web protection component for your devices.

  • Malware - Malware an umbrella term that describes any malicious program or code that is harmful to systems.

  • Ransomeware (ARW) - A type of malware that prevents users from accessing their system or personal files and demands payment (ransom) to regain access.

  • Exploit (AE) - Exploits are a type of malware that take advantage of bugs and system vulnerabilities in order to allow the Exploit's creator to take control.
