Designating Application Support

Considerations and requirements when application support is managed by Electric vs an Internal Admin.

Introduction

When you add an application to your workspace in Turbine, you'll be expected to designate support for it. For Electric's Supported Applications, you can choose to have Electric or an Internal Admin support the application.

Electric Supported Applications

When you add an application in Turbine, you may designate Electric to support an application. When Electric is selected to support an application, there is some additional information that you'll be expected to provide.

To support an application, Electric will need administrator access.

When adding a new application, we’ll ask you to provide the email address of an internal administrator that can facilitate this request. This person will be sent an email containing further instructions on how to provide Electric administrative access to the application.

Electric will need you to clarify application approval requirements.

If Electric is designated as the support for an application, you'll need to answer whether you want your end-users to have immediate access to the application without internal approval.

  • If you indicate Yes, it's ok to bypass the approval process we will consider requests related to the application pre-approved and will proceed independently when a request is made. This means end users can request anything (i.e. having admin access to an application) and Electric will fulfill the request. Please consider this and other potential unintended consequences before selecting this option.

  • If you indicate No, I'd like all requests for this application to be approved, Electric will contact an approver (designated by you) before granting application access to a new user. We recommend selecting this for any application(s) that Electric is purchasing licenses for on your behalf.

Internal Admin Supported Applications

You can also designate an Internal Admin to manage an application that is on our Supported Applications list. When adding the application in Turbine, you will need to provide the email address of the Internal Admin. Electric will contact this person for all end-user requests related to the application.

Unsupported Applications must be managed by an Internal Admin.
