Welcome to Electric’s IT Hub—where onboarding new employees is as smooth as a well-grounded circuit! Whether you’re assigning apps, setting up hardware, or managing email accounts, our streamlined process ensures your new hires are ready to hit the ground running. Let’s dive into how you can efficiently onboard your next team member, step by step.
Step-by-Step Guide to Onboarding
1. Locate the Employee Detail Page
Head over to the Employee Detail Page in the IT Hub. This is your mission control for managing individual employees.
2. Select Onboard
Click Actions and choose Onboard from the dropdown menu. The onboarding process will guide you through the necessary steps to get your new hire set up.
3. Enter Employee Information
Fill in your new hire’s details. Here’s where the magic happens:
Work Email Creation: If your organization uses Google Workspace, typing in the work email will automatically create it for your new hire.
4. Choose Apps and Hardware
Now it’s time to power up their digital toolkit!
Apps Only: If you skip hardware and focus on apps, ensure you assign the right tools to help them hit the ground running. Note: No apps = no work email creation.
Apps + Hardware: Need hardware too? You’re in luck! Choosing this option allows you to:
Pick from Inventory: Browse your existing hardware inventory.
Buy New: Access the Electric Hardware Store and make a purchase.
Tip: Be the Hardware Champion
If you’re the designated Hardware Champion, you’ll be immediately directed to the Hardware Store. There, you can select devices from your inventory or place an order for new equipment. Either way, we’ll help ensure your new hire gets exactly what they need.
