Employee Guide: Troubleshooting the Electric Desktop App and MDM

Fixing Electric on your device

If your company asked you to take action on your device, don’t worry. This is usually quick to fix.

👍 Start here

  1. Make sure you’re connected to the internet

    1. Open a browser and try loading a website like Google.

    2. If it doesn’t load, reconnect to Wi-Fi and try again.

  2. Open the Electric app

    1. Find Electric in your Applications (Mac) or Programs (Windows) and open it.

      1. If you see a login screen, log back in

      2. If you see any prompts, follow the steps shown

  3. Restart your device

    1. If things still aren’t working, restart your computer.

    2. This fixes most issues.

🛠 If it’s still not working

  1. Reinstall Electric (only if you were told to)

    1. Sometimes the app needs a fresh install.

      1. Follow the link your admin provided

      2. Reinstall and log back in

Reinstalling may remove some company settings, so only do this if instructed.


❗ Common reasons this happens

  • Your laptop was off for a while

  • The app was accidentally closed or removed

  • Your computer needed a restart

  • Another app such as antivirus blocked Electric
