Rerouting Hardware Devices Overview
Rerouting Hardware Devices Overview

An overview of the rerouting hardware policy.

Updated over 5 months ago

Introduction

Electric can ship devices directly to you from our vendors or from Electric HQ. We can also coordinate shipping for company-owned devices once an employee is offboarded.

However, once devices are in transit, there are only certain requests that can be rerouted. This article will provide high-level information about Electric’s rerouting policies and associated costs.

Procurement Orders - Shipping Product Directly to Customer

Due to an increase in rerouting requests, our procurement shipping distributors have halted our ability to reroute items once in transit. Therefore, once a tracking number for procurement orders has been generated, we are unable to reroute the items. Also, we are unable to cancel orders once a tracking number has been generated.

In the event, an item is being sent to an address that the end user is no longer at, most of our deliveries require signature. Once an item is unable to be delivered, it will be sent back to the procurement distributor for a refund.

Shipping Orders - Shipping Laptop from Electric HQ to Customer

When sending a device from Electric HQ to an employee, we have the ability to reroute the device for a fee with our partnered shipping vendor, UPS.

This request requires a flat rate of $25. This will result in an additional charge, and we will submit a reroute request with UPS.
