Introduction
Sometimes, computer repairs are needed. Electric is happy to provide support to our customers wherever possible throughout this process, however these capabilities vary based on the device manufacturer. Each process is described below.
Apple Repairs
When a customer contacts Electric for repair support on an Apple device, our Service Desk technicians will review the information provided to assess whether the device should be sent to the manufacturer. When a manufacturer repair is deemed necessary, the Service Desk will initiate the repair request with Apple on the customer's behalf.
All repair requests and quotes from the manufacturer will be sent to an internal administrator for approval. Once approved, the Service Desk technician may contact the owner of the damaged device to collect information such as email address, mailing address, and telephone number. These are details that the manufacturer will need to coordinate shipping for the device.
The owner of the damaged device will receive an email describing next steps and shipping instructions. The device must be shipped to the manufacturer based on these instructions within 10-days of receiving the aforementioned email.
Timing required for repairs may vary. Once repairs are completed, Electric will notify the customer when the device is in transit. If provided by the manufacturer, Electric will include a tracking number.
Microsoft Repairs
Microsoft requires devices to be registered to the customer's Microsoft account, through which repairs can be requested and diagnostic tools can be used to identify the potential problem. You can find instructions from Microsoft here!
Please note, Electric cannot facilitate this process on your behalf, nor can we provide or complete payment to Microsoft for repairs completed. Your company must work with Microsoft directly to diagnose the issue, coordinate a repair, and provide necessary payment(s).
At this time, Electric cannot coordinate repairs for external peripherals. This includes but is not limited to: monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, routers, and chargers.
