Employee Offboarding Timing

General timing guidelines for offboarding requests. Use this to understand estimated lead times and better ensure timely offboardings.

Introduction

Electric’s Offboarding Team is prepared to support requests as needed, whether they’re scheduled requests or ASAP terminations.

Please note, Electric’s Offboarding Team is available with limited coverage on Federal Holidays. Hardware Lab services are not available on Federal Holidays.

Standard Offboardings

When notified of an employee’s resignation or termination, an Offboarder needs to submit an Offboarding Request and indicate the employee’s final date with the company. On that date, Electric will begin offboarding tasks with the intent to finish within 2 hours. Please note, this is not an SLA and is subject to offboarding volumes and agent availability.

Electric’s Offboarding Sequence is as follows:

  1. Revoke access to email.

  2. Revoke access to chat.

  3. Lock/wipe command is sent to the device.*

  4. Revoke access to all other requested Electric-managed applications.**

  5. Process any requested drive transfers, calendar sharing, and forwarding rules.

*Device lock/wipe is subject to device model and enrollment in device management software. The command is only received if the device is connected to the internet.

**SaaS deprovisioning is subject to Admin console access, customer response, and any required approvals.

Same Day Offboardings

We know that same day/urgent offboarding requests may occur. In those situations, Electric will aim to complete the request(s) on the requested date to the best of our ability. Please note, the closer an offboarding is submitted toward the end of the business day, the more likely the request will be completed the next business day.

For offboarding requests that are highly sensitive in nature, contact your Customer Success Manager. Your CSM can coordinate with our Service Desk Management Team to ensure the request is handled with the care it requires.

Device Returns

Electric will help to facilitate shipping for devices that need to be returned to customers directly or to Electric for storage when an employee is offboarded. Actions associated with an offboarded employee’s device are coordinated based on details submitted via the Offboarding Request form and typically takes a minimum of 1-full business day to begin.
