How to Review Approval Requests via Chat
Introduction
There are some IT support requests; such as a change to employee permissions or purchasing software/hardware, that require approval from a stakeholder on your team. In these scenarios, Electric will contact a designated approver(s) to review the request before action can be taken on behalf of the requester.
Steps to Review Approval Requests
The process for reviewing approval request will vary based on the chat platform used by your company. Expand the section below that is applicable to your environment to learn how to review and approve or reject an application request.
Slack
For customers that use Slack as a chat platform, approval requests will be visible in Slack from the Home tab in the Electric app and can be approved or rejected with the click of a button. Keep reading to learn more.

End user submits a request to Electric that requires approval (i.e. application permissions).

Electric alerts Approver of request via Slack message. See example below.

Approver clicks View Home Tab button in message and is redirected to view the pending approval request(s). See example below.

Approver(s) review the request and clicks Approve, Reject, or Reject & Comment to respond to the request using the buttons provided.

End user is notified of the Approver's response.
Microsoft Teams
For customers that use Microsoft Teams as a chat platform, approval requests will be delivered via chat from Electric and can be approved or rejected with the click of a button. Keep reading to learn more.

Once a response is provided, no further action is required by the Approver. The Employee will be notified of the Approver's response.
