How to Get Started with a New Device
Introduction
Chances are, if you’re reading this article you’ve just received a new device from Electric on behalf of your employer. Follow the steps below to finish setting up your device.
Steps to Start Up Your New Device

Gently remove your device from the box and peel off the screen protector.

Turn on the laptop.

Select the Language, Country, and Accessibility Options applicable to you.

Connect the device to WiFi.

A prompt for Remote Management will appear, click Continue to automatically configure your computer.

Provide your Full Name, Account Name, Password, and (optional) Password Hint to create your user account.

Enable location services.
-
Touch ID setup can be completed here, but is optional or may not be applicable to your computer.

Choose Your Look can be completed here, but is optional.

Click Continue to complete the process. Your computer is ready to use!
There are some pop-ups that may appear when you use your device for the first time. Those notices and the suggested actions for each are outlined below.

Electric Software Update - Select Open and follow the on-screen instructions.

Microsoft Automatic Updates - Select Continue.

Enable FileVault - Select Reboot and the laptop will restart. Click Enable Now if this prompt appears again.
⚠️ Do not remove serial number stickers from your device.
