# Solution Partner | Perimeter81

## Introduction

Perimeter81 is a cloud-based Secure Network as a Service Provider that helps to increase security for today's modern and distributed workforces, giving companies of all sizes the power to be fully mobile and confidently cloud-based. This article will explain what Perimeter81 is, the value it can provide to Electric's customers, and how Electric can help with the implementation of it for companies like yours.

## Perimeter81 Overview

Perimeter81, a Secure Network as a Service provider, is comprised of four different components.

**Unified Cloud Management Platform**with which IT personnel can manage their team, network and permissions, and monitor network activity. The platform offers Single Sign-On (SSO) integration, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), and mobile support.

**Multi-tenant Cloud**where multiple networks can be created and segmented based on different permissions. Networks can be interconnected with centrally based office and native firewalls, or to cloud services through IP whitelisting.

**Easy-to-use agents**that can be installed on either mobile or laptop devices. This offers your employees single-click access to any local network or cloud-based resource while providing a unified security experience - regardless of their location.

**Zero trust, agent-less application access** which employs multi-layered user trust and device trust policy validation that will authorize employees before granting them access to applications. This secures your network, employees, and applications.

### Who can benefit from Perimeter81?

Perimeter81 is well-suited for a number of different companies, if one or more of the following applies to your company, talk to your Customer Success Manager about enabling Perimeter81:

* Companies with a hybrid and/or remote workforce.

* Any company with on-premise file server(s).

* Any company with an existing VPN software.

* Companies with International locations.

* Company with cloud resources, e.g. resources hosted in AWS or Azure.

* Any company with Compliance Requirements.

### What value does Perimeter81 provide?

**Enables Remote Access** so Employees can connect from multiple devices, from various locations, at any time - day or night!

**Secures the Cloud** because, although your cloud provider offers network infrastructure, it does not address access point security into your network. It's up to you to ensure the access to your cloud environment is secure.

**Encrypts Transmitted Data** to ensure that all transmitted data, regardless of device or location, is completely encrypted and that only authorized connections are established.

**Scalability** thanks to a cloud-enabled VPN that enables customers to easily and securely onboard new employees with access to company network and other resources, regardless of location.

**Always on VPN** to help protect company data from temporary exposure in the event of a broken connection.

## Perimeter81 Deployment Process

If your company contacts Electric to deploy Perimeter81 for network and VPN security, a Project Manager will partner with you and your Customer Success Manager to complete the deployment project. Below is an overview of the standard deployment process.

**Discovery**

Project Manager introduction, presentation of proposed timeline and action plan. Creation of new Perimeter81 account (confirmation of licenses, gateway locations, login method, etc.), reconciliation of active user licenses/endpoints, and network review (e.g. SaaS services, on-premise, identity providers)

**Configuration**

Implementation of SSO\* and SAML, if applicable. Creation of network in Perimeter81 dashboard, configuration of Perimeter81 settings (e.g. 2FA, auto-launch, etc.). Gateways identified during Discovery phase will be created.

\**SSO must be implemented prior to start of Perimeter81 deployment project.*

**Deployment**

# Dropsuite | FAQ

## **What does Dropsuite do for my organization?**

* Dropsuite is a reliable and secure SaaS backup and recovery solution for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.

## **How does a new user get onboarded to Dropsuite?**

* If auto enroll was selected during deployment, all new users to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 will be added to Dropsuite.

* If auto-enroll was not selected during deployment, new users will need to be added automatically by the POC admin. Please see instructions [here](https://help.dropsuite.com/hc/en-us/articles/20426286859927-4-User-Management-End-User-Portal)on how to do this.

## **I have an employee leaving and would like to retain their data without using a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license. How do I accomplish that?**

* Dropsuite requires an Exchange license in Microsoft 365 and for Google Workspace users to remain active to be able to actively back them up. If a mail license (be it Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace) is removed from the tenant/workspace, it will retain all of the previously backed-up data for the user and mark them as "de-activated" in the portal.

* If a user has their mail license removed, the tool will stop backing them up but will retain any previously backed-up data. That data will still be accessible and can then be downloaded or migrated to another mailbox but cannot be restored to the original mailbox, as it is no longer linked in Dropsuite.

* Dropsuite will provide additional licenses, 20% above the current licenses purchased, to cover any deactivated mailboxes.

* After that 20% de-activated mailbox threshold is reached, the mailboxes then require a full Dropsuite license. This means there is some savings from a Dropsuite perspective as well, but it has a 20% limit.

## **Can I make changes to the Dropsuite policies or settings?**

* Yes, an administrative account is provided to a single POC specified in the deployment questionnaire.

## **How do I restore data?**

* This will depend on the type of data that is being restored and where it will need to be restored. Please see the Starting Guide below for more information.

## **What training resources/documentation are available for my team?**

* You can reference Dropsuite's full getting started guide [here](https://help.dropsuite.com/hc/en-us/sections/20631036988823-Starting-Guide).

# Threatdown | FAQ

## **What does Threatdown do for my organization?**

* Threatdown EDR is a non-disruptive, lightweight endpoint agent that helps detect \& protect against "zero-day" threats.

## How do I get support for Threatdown?

* Threatdown requests can be submitted from the Support Center in IT hub **or** by emailing [product-support@electric.ai](mailto:product-support@electric.ai). Admins can also submit a ticket via the Admin center by clicking **Get help with Threatdown.**

* Product Support will work with you directly on the request. If needed, Electric will escalate the request to our partner support team and liaise with Threatdown Support via our reseller relationship with Pax8 to drive the issue to resolution.

## **How does a new user get onboarded to Threatdown?**

* Specific user accounts do not need to be created for this application to work.

* Application deployment will be as follows:

  * **Quickstart customers:** The POC selected during deployment will be provided with installer links to share with all end users to install Threatdown.

    * When an onboarding/offboarding request is submitted, The App Champion will be notified via ITHub to add or remove a device from Threatdown.

    * The POC selected during deployment will also receive **Site Admin** access to generate installer links for future use. Documentation to generate installer links from Threatdown console are below:

      * [Mac](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/29123920479379-Add-Mac-endpoints-in-OneView) Instructions

      * [Windows](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/29197765928467-Add-Windows-endpoints-in-OneView) Instructions

  * **All other customers:** The application will be pushed automatically to the end user's device as soon as it is enrolled in MDM.

## **Can I make changes to the Threatdown policies or settings?**

* Yes, an administrative account is provided to a single POC specified in the deployment questionnaire.

* If multiple admins on customer side are needed, open a ticket with [product-support@electric.ai](mailto:product-support@electric.ai) and the team will get them set up!

## **What training resources/documentation are available for my team?**

* You can find additional support materials [here](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/p/oneview).

## **What type of information can I see in IT Hub?**

* Threatdown information will be visible in the Security tab of ITHub after project completion.

## **How can a user see/confirm that Threatdown is installed on their device?**

* On Mac:

  * Open up Finder \> File pathway: /private/var/log/com.Threatdown.EndpointAgent.log

* On Windows:

  * Open the Search Bar or Control Panel\> Add/Remove Program \> "Threatdown"

  * OR Navigate to C:\\Program Files\\Threatdown Endpoint Agent\\

## **What is the difference between Protected and Scan Only status?**

* The differences in protection status [can be found here](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/13989278009491-Endpoint-protection-statuses-in-OneView). To get a device from scan only into protected mode, the user must allow full disk access. This is more common on Mac machines. The Electric Endpoint team can help enable full disk encryption if the customer is on MDM. [Enable FDA](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/27533229933715-Grant-Full-Disk-Access-on-Mac-devices-in-OneView) via this link.

## How does a Windows device get scan approved?

* Windows device becomes "scan approved" by Threatdown when a scan is run using the application and no malware or other threats are detected, meaning the scan completes without finding any malicious files or suspicious activity on the system; essentially, a clean scan with no threats identified signifies a scan-approved device. You can read more about scan policies [here](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/4413802866579-Scan-policy-settings-in-OneView).

## **Can I access reports for Threatdown?**

* This information can readily be found in the Security tab of IT Hub or the Threatdown Reporting tab in Turbine. If more granular reporting is needed, please submit a ticket and we'll be happy to assist.

## I have the Microsoft Defender native antivirus running on my window device. Do I need to turn it off?

* Threatdown EDR and Microsoft Defender Antivirus can coexist, but Defender Antivirus can be set to passive/inactive mode when ThreatDown is the primary endpoint protection solution. You don't need to uninstall Defender Antivirus, but Threatdown will take over as the primary endpoint protection.

Electric reserves the right to enforce these Quality Standards in its sole discretion regarding non-compliance with any of these items, or other events in non-compliance with the specified work for a referral from the Electric IT Hub. Non-compliance by a partner may lead to restricted access to the Electric IT Hub and/or termination of a partner's participation in the Service Partner Program. Such restricted access will prevent new referrals by Electric from the IT Hub until Electric determines that the restriction should be lifted. A restriction will not excuse the performance of specified work by a Partner already in progress.

* Any company with on-premise file server(s).

* Any company with an existing VPN software.

* Companies with International locations.

Begin user testing, which includes set-up of test users and collection of user feedback and updates to documentation. Upon completion of user testing, company-wide deployment by Electric via device management tools (Jumpcloud). Customers are responsible for installing Perimeter81 for their employees that are not enrolled with Electric device management tools.

**Closing**

Perimeter81 dashboard has been configured, network gateway(s) and other features have been confirmed and documented. Project Manager will provide the customer with documentation necessary for onboarding new users (if applicable). Customer will be asked to sign off on project completion via email.

Please note, additional services requested that are not defined and covered by the original statement of work will constitute a change order/amendment. All project work related to the deployment of Perimeter81 will be completed during regular business hours. If after-hours or weekend work is requested, it will impact pricing and require a project scope change.

## **I'm receiving alerts that my company's ESS is under 630. What does that mean?**

* Each employee will be given an Employee Secure Score (ESS). This score is generated by combining many of the key metrics listed below. You can think of your ESS as a credit score for your security strength. The higher the ESS, the more likely you are to defend against a data breach.

* Tips for maximizing your ESS:

  * You'll receive ESS points for acknowledging all policies \& procedures.

  * The more micro-training quizzes you miss, the more it will negatively impact your ESS.

  * Falling for a phishing email will negatively impact your ESS.

<!-- -->

* The leaderboard within your Dashboard lets you compete head-to-head with your co-workers to see who has the highest ESS! Don't forget to pick a good screen name within the Edit Profile section. Have fun and enjoy the healthy competition!

## **What action should I take if my company's ESS is under 630?**

* Electric and Breach Secure Now recommend encouraging end users to increase their ESS by taking additional micro-quizzes and training

## **Can I make changes to the Breach Secure Now policies or settings?**

* Yes, an administrative account is provided to a single POC specified in the deployment questionnaire.

## **What happens if a new Phishing Scenario is added to an existing campaign?**

* If you have phishing campaigns currently scheduled for your clients and have elected to "include new scenarios," the above new scenarios will be included in future campaigns as long as they fit inside your chosen parameters.

      * [Mac](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/29123920479379-Add-Mac-endpoints-in-OneView) Instructions

      * [Windows](https://support.threatdown.com/hc/en-us/articles/29197765928467-Add-Windows-endpoints-in-OneView) Instructions

* On Mac:

  * Open up Finder \> File pathway: /private/var/log/com.Threatdown.EndpointAgent.log

* On Windows:

  * Open the Search Bar or Control Panel\> Add/Remove Program \> "Threatdown"

  * OR Navigate to C:\\Program Files\\Threatdown Endpoint Agent\\

### 1. Add and manage employees

**Important:** have no fear, following these steps will **not** invite employees to the Electric platform. You will be able to invite all employees towards the last step of this guide using the **Launch Electric for your team** option.

#### 1.1 Add employees

You have three options when it comes to adding employees to your Electric organization.

1. *Connecting to an HR system or identity solution*

Electric is designed to work seamlessly with and for your employees, as well as for you as the account administrator. For Pro customers, connecting your HR system now creates a more automated IT Hub experience and reduces manual steps when adding employees and groups.

Click the **Connect to HR or identity solution** button to start this process.

**Important:** HR system connections are available exclusively with the Pro plan.

**Need detailed instructions?** [Find them here](https://support.electric.ai/en/electricithub/working-version/electric-it-hub-integrations#HR-System-Integrations).

2. *Adding employees individually*

Click **Add employee individually** to access the employees page where you can start adding your team. If you have fewer than 10 employees, adding each manually is likely your fastest path.

More detailed instructions on how to add employees can be found [here](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-manually-add-employees).

3. *Add employees via CSV*

For 10+ employees or if you have employee information in a spreadsheet, bulk upload will save time. Click the **Add employees via CSV**button and then upload your formatted spreadsheet.

More detailed instructions on how to add employees can be found [here](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-import-employees).

This step will be marked completed once you have added 1 additional employee to your organization.

##### 1.2 Invite admins

Now that you've added your employees, you can select additional Admins:

1. Select the employee whose role you want to update

2. Click the **Edit Employee** button in the upper right corner of the employee detail page

3. Update the **Role** attribute to **Admin**

4. Select **Save**

This will trigger an email notification to the Admin to log into their account.

This step will be marked completed once you have added 1 additional admin to your organization.

##### 1.3 Configure employee support

**Recommended Read:** Learn about the **Employee Support Center** your employees can leverage to submit IT requests to your IT Champions[++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-support-center).

Click the **Setup IT Champions** button to choose who at your organization will be your IT Champions for each category.

IT Champions are designated experts who handle specific types of support issues within your organization. You can assign Champions based on different areas of expertise---including applications, connectivity, devices, and other IT needs. This targeted approach ensures that support issues your team submit are managed promptly and effectively by the appropriate experts, improving overall support efficiency and user satisfaction.

If no Category Champion is assigned for a particular area, issues will automatically default to the first Admin added to Electric. Proper assignment of Category Champions is crucial for maintaining a streamlined and responsive support system within your organization.

**Need detailed instructions?** Find them[++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-support-center-settings).

This step will be marked as completed once you click the Setup IT Champions button.

#### 2. Streamline onboarding \& offboarding

To ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes, it's essential to add all of your applications, set up available integrations and assign applications to groups.

##### **2.1 Add Applications**

##### (\~ 10 minutes)

**Recommended Read:** Learn about adding and managing Applications and Integrations[++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-applications).

Click the **Add applications** button to start adding your applications. We recommend adding all applications you can think of before moving on to adding integrations.

This step will be marked completed once you add 1 application to your organization.

##### **2.2 Connect app integrations**

Once you've added your applications, you'll see **Integration available** under connection status in the application table. This status indicates that an integration is available for the application but has not been set up yet. Once activated, it can enable account creation and deletion during employee onboarding and offboarding.

Click into each application with an integration available and follow the instructions to connect the available integration.

**Important:**The license level and admin access requirements to connect each application integration are different for each application, so be sure to follow the instructions outlined in the details page!

##### **2.3 Add and configure groups**

(\~ 5 minutes / group)

**Recommended Read:** Learn about the power of Groups [++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-groups).

Groups are how you can organize your employees and the applications they should have access to. Groups can be tailored to fit your needs, whether you choose to set up departments, locations, or teams, it's up to you.

Groups must be configured with Applications to work their magic. Without this association, your onboarding and offboarding processes won't know which apps to grant or revoke access for.

**Already connected your HR system?** Great news! Groups have been automatically created to match your existing departments. Simply add the appropriate applications to ensure each group is configured properly. To add or edit Groups you must add or edit them within your HRIS platform.

1. Click into a Group

2. Click **Applications** , select Actions and **Add applications**

   1. Select all applications that this Group should have access to

   2. Select the **Has accounts** button. This indicates that existing employees of this group already have access to these applications.

   3. Repeat for all other Groups!

**Need to add Groups?** If you don't have an existing group structure, we recommend starting with broad Groups (like "All Employees") for universal apps like your email app or chat provider app. From there you can create specific Groups (like "Sales Team" or "Engineering") for role-specific tools.

1. Click the **Add groups** button to add a group and then click into the created Group

2. Select the **Actions** dropdown and **Add employees**

3. Click **Applications** , select Actions and **Add applications**

   1. Select all applications that this Group should have access to

   2. Select the **Has accounts** button. This indicates that existing employees of this group already have access to these applications.

   3. Repeat for all other Groups!

**Need more information on Groups?** Find them[++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/electric-it-hub-groups).

This step will be marked completed once you have added 1 application to a group within your organization.

#### 3. Configure organization settings

The following three steps will guide you through essential configurations from the Settings page: adding a payment method and enabling Mobile Device Management (MDM).

##### 3.1 Add payment method for services

(\~ 1 minute)

Setting up your billing information now prevents delays down the road! This payment method covers all service invoices including your Electric licenses, warehousing, QR codes, and any other subscriptions you have with us.

Click the **Add payment method** button to open the billing modal where you can enter your information and payment details.

This step will be marked as completed once you enter a payment method on file.

##### 3.2 Enable mobile device management (MDM)

(\~ 10 minutes)

**Recommended Read:** Learn about securing and managing devices with JumpCloud[++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/mobile-device-management-mdm-at-electric-securing-).

JumpCloud MDM empowers Electric customers to easily manage users, devices, access, and security policies. Whether your business uses Windows devices, Apple devices, or both, enabling MDM early ensures everything is ready for seamless deployment when you add employees.

Select the button that matches your environment to redirect to the **Settings** page where you can begin this process.

**Important:** MDM is available exclusively with the Pro plan.

**Need detailed instructions?** [Find them here](https://support.electric.ai/en/electricithub/working-version/electric-it-hub-device-management-settings#Enable-MDM-(Mobile-Device-Management)).

This step will be marked completed once you have enabled your MDM account or clicked the skip button.

#### **4. Launch Electric for your team**

##### **4.1 Notify your company of the Electric partnership**

Before using the "Launch Electric for your team" feature, we recommend sending a note out to the company letting them know about your partnership with Electric so they know what to expect next. We've created some templates you can use:

* [++Template for Pro Customers++](https://support.electric.ai/en/electricithub/working-version.md)

* [++Template for Essentials Customers++](https://support.electric.ai/en/electricithub/working-version.md)

This step will be marked completed once you click "Employees notified".

##### **4.2 Invite employees to Electric**

Once you've shared the news, click the **Send Welcome Email** button to send welcome emails to all your team members, inviting them to set up their accounts.

This step will be marked completed once you click the 'Send welcome email' button.

#### **5.Streamline device procurement \& provisioning**

##### 5.1 Connect Apple Business Manager account(ABM)

(\~ 10 minute)

**Recommended Read:** Learn about the power of Apple Business Manager (ABM) and zero-touch device provisioning (ZTP)[++here++](https://support.electric.ai/electricithub/what-is-zero-touch-provisioning-for-apple-devices).

# Account Linking Steps - Login with Google

## Introduction

**For all users** **with a username and password already for Electric -- who then attempts to login with Google -- there is an additional setup step to link the current account with the Google account.**

This one-time linking process ensures existing account data, settings, and configurations stay intact while unlocking the convenience of Google authentication for all future logins. Once linked, you'll access Electric without the hassle of remembering another password.

*** ** * ** ***

## The Account Linking Process

### Step 1: Initiate Google Login

* Navigate to the Electric login page, enter your email address, and click "Continue"

* A 'Google' SSO button will appear. Click that button.

* This will begin the connection process between your existing account and Google's authentication system.

### Step 2: Google Authorization

You'll be redirected to Google's secure authentication page where you'll:

1. Select or confirm your Google account

2. Review the permissions Electric needs to access basic profile information

3. Click "Continue" to authorize the connection

*Note: Electric only accesses your name, email address, and profile picture.*

### Step 3: Link Your Existing Username/Password Account

After Google authorization, you'll arrive at the "Link Your Existing Account" page.

1. You'll see your Google account information displayed

2. Electric will detect if there's already an account associated with your email

3. Click "Link Account" to begin the final connection step

### Step 4: One Last Manual Authentication

To complete the linking process securely:

1. Enter your current Electric username and password one final time.

2. This verifies that you own both accounts and authorizes the permanent link

3. After entry, you will be redirected to the product.

*** ** * ** ***

## What Happens After Linking

Once your accounts are successfully linked:

* **Future Logins**: Simply click "Sign in with Google" and you're in.

* **Account Security**: Your account maintains the same security level with added Google protection

* **Team Access**: Other team members will need to complete their own linking process individually

*** ** * ** ***

## Troubleshooting Tips

* **Multiple Google Accounts**: If you have multiple Google accounts, make sure to select the one that matches exactly to your current Electric access email address which should be the same domain as your workplace.

* **Authentication Issues**: If you encounter any problems during the linking process, try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then restart the process.

# Employees

The Active Employees page provides an overview of all employees with access to the IT Hub, each of whom uses one license. This page allows you to quickly see which employees have a device and whether MDM is installed. Additionally, you can view the status of employees, including any ongoing onboarding or offboarding processes.

You can add employees manually, through a bulk spreadsheet upload, or via an HR System integration, which is available only on the Pro plan. Furthermore, you can click on an employee to view their detailed employee information page. This functionality is important, as it offers a centralized and efficient way to manage employee access, track device allocation, and ensure security compliance, ultimately enhancing the overall management and productivity of your company.

# "Launch Electric"

## Introduction

Ready to officially welcome your whole team to the Electric as the IT provider? Using the "Launch Electric for your team" card, with just one click, you can send welcome emails to all your team members, inviting them to set up their accounts.

## How Welcome Emails Work

Understanding when and how welcome emails are sent helps you manage your team's onboarding experience smoothly. Here's what happens behind the scenes:

* **When You First Join Electric** As the admin who sets up your organization, you'll automatically receive a welcome email when your account is created.

* **Adding New Employees** When you add employees whether manually, via CSV import, or through your HR system, they won't receive welcome emails immediately. This gives the admin time to add multiple team members and prepare your setup before officially inviting everyone to the platform.

* **The Send Welcome Emails Button** Once you're ready to go live, clicking the "Send Welcome Emails" button from the**Getting Started Guide** delivers welcome emails to all employees in your organization (except you, since you already have access). This button acts as your official launch moment, ensuring your team receives their invitations all at once.

* **After Welcome Emails Are Sent** Once the admin has clicked the button, any new employees you add going forward will automatically receive their welcome email upon being added to the system. This ensures seamless onboarding for future hires without requiring additional action.

## Sending Welcome Emails to Your Team

**Step 1: Complete Your Setup** Before sending welcome emails, make sure you've:

* Added all current employees to the People section

* Configured your groups and applications

* Set up any necessary integrations

* Reviewed your employee list to ensure accuracy and licensing

**Step 2: Send Welcome Emails**

1. Navigate to the homepage Dashboard and to the Getting Started area where the "Send Welcome Emails" card and button appears

2. Click the "Send Welcome Emails" button

**Step 3: Welcome Emails Delivered**

All employees (except you as the initiating admin) will receive their welcome emails containing:

* Instructions to set up their username and password or login with sso if available

* A link to access Electric

* Guidance on next steps

## Important Notes

* **Minimum Team Size Requirement** The "Send Welcome Emails" button will only be enabled if your organization has more than one employee. If you're a solo operation or haven't added any employees yet, you'll see a message indicating that additional employees are needed before welcome emails can be sent.

* **One-Time Action with Lasting Impact** Once you click "Send Welcome Emails," the system remembers this action. All future employees you add will automatically receive their welcome email upon being added---no need to click the button again.

## What If an Employee Doesn't Receive Their Email?

If an employee reports they didn't receive their welcome email, they can still gain access by:

1. Visiting [http://my.electric.ai](http://my.electric.ai/)

2. Clicking 'Don't have an account? **"Sign up"'**

3. Following the prompts to set up their account
