Introduction

Electric partners with Datto to provide cloud-to-cloud back-up solutions to our customers. Datto SaaS Protection offers comprehensive back-up and recovery for critical cloud data that lives in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. This article will tell you more about what Datto SaaS Protection is, how it can provide value to companies like yours, and the steps involved in deploying it to your cloud accounts.

Datto SaaS Protection Overview

Datto SaaS Protection (formerly Backupify) is a cloud-to-cloud back-up solution. SaaS Protection ensures critical programs used for business, email, and internal documentation such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are securely and reliably protected.

Microsoft 365 Datto SaaS Protection is back-up and recovery solution that protects critical tools including Microsoft 365 Exchange, Calendar, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams data.

Google Workspace Datto SaaS Protection is a back-up and recovery solution that protects critical cloud data living in Gmail, Google Drive, Shared Drives, Calendar, and Contacts.

All data protected with Datto SaaS Protection, regardless of your environment, will be automatically backed-up three times per day.

What value can Datto SaaS Protection provide?

SaaS applications are just as vulnerable to data loss as on-premises applications. Enabling Datto Saas Protection can help your company to avoid the uncertainty and reduce your risk of lost data. Here are some key features of Datto SaaS Protection:

  • Point in time back-ups: Back-ups include daily snapshots of user data, enabling company admins to browse a user's account at a specific point in time. This also prevents data loss from ransomware by restoring entire accounts to a specific point in time prior to the attack.

  • Multiple, automatic back-ups per day: Automatic daily back-ups for protected environments occur three times per day.

  • On-demand back-up: Additional back-ups can be performed as needed and will not affect your three regularly scheduled, automatic back-ups.

  • Back-up notifications: From your Datto dashboard, see back-up notifications and information at a glance.

  • Flexible retention: Not all environments are the same; SaaS Protection offers various data retention options based on your company's unique needs.

Datto SaaS Protection Deployment Process

Below is an overview of the enablement process. Please note, Electric must be granted Global Admin or Super Admin credentials to your account to successfully deploy Datto SaaS Protection.
