What device management software does Electric deploy?

Jamf Pro (Macs) and Kaseya (Windows).

How do I know if device management software is installed on my device?

Will device management software restrict what I do on my computer?

No. It’s at the discretion of each Electric customer to decide what security policies they’d like to enable (i.e. Firewall, Screen Lock, Password Requirements) but our software on it’s own will not restrict what you do.

Will device management software slow my computer down?

No, Electric’s health monitoring tool has been designed to be extremely lightweight and not negatively affect system performance.

What does MDM stand for?

MDM stands for Mobile Device Management. Jamf Pro is a MDM solution for Macs. This technology provide you with visibility into your device suite health, maintain up-to-date security policies, and provide troubleshooting support in the event of an issue.

What does RMM stand for?

RMM stands for Remote Monitoring and Management. Kaseya is a RMM solution for PCs. This technology enables Electric to provide you with visibility into your device suite health, maintain up-to-date security policies, and provide troubleshooting support in the event of an issue.

Employee Privacy

Can you see what I’m doing on my desktop?

Not without your permission. Electric can only gain remote access to your desktop if you provide us explicit permission to do so while we are working with you to troubleshoot an issue.

Does this application monitor the content or communication on my computer?

No, this is not an employee monitoring software. Electric only collects system performance information and does so strictly for the purposes of delivering real-time IT support.

Security Compliance

What about root access, isn’t that a security or compliance issue?

To conform with most industry-standard policies including ISO and SOC-2, Electric’s policies do not allow for any changes at the terminal level without explicit written permission from an authorized decision maker at your company. All changes are recorded in a third-party audit trail in order to meet compliance requirements.
