Electric's Idle Screen Timeout policy.

Updated over a year ago

Introduction

This policy utilizes the settings built into the device’s Operating System (OS) to require your password to unlock it after a certain amount of time being left idle. This policy helps secure devices (Mac or PC) that have been left unattended for too long.

How the Policy Works

  • Electric will enforce existing OS settings via Jamf Pro (Macs) and Kaseya (PCs) to require a password to unlock the device after 15 minutes of idle time.

  • Once display sleep or screensaver begins, a password will be required to resume using the device.

  • End users may adjust this setting at any time.

    • Macs: The policy will reinforce the setting at every check in.

    • PCs: The policy will not reinforce. Device admin permissions are required to change this setting.
