Default Security Controls: Firewall

Electric's policy for Firewall configuration.

Updated over a year ago

Introduction

Firewall is a security measure built into Operating Systems that helps prevent undesirable applications from taking control of network ports that are open for legitimate use. Firewall protection allows end users to control incoming and outbound connections on a per-application basis rather than a per-port basis.

Configuration Overview

Electric will enable Jamf Pro (Apple) or Kaseya (Windows) to remotely enforce turning on Firewall for existing and future Electric-managed Macs and/or PCs.

Results may take up to 1 business day before reflecting in the Device Management page in Turbine. Once this data is available in Turbine, you will have visibility to your Electric supported employees firewall configurations and be able to identify whether you currently have users that need to enable firewall on their device.
