Paychex - How to link your account

With your HR data flowing directly into Electric, employee lifecycle management becomes faster, easier, and more secure.

Electric integrates directly with Paychex Flex, syncing employee records to trigger hardware orders, app access provisioning, and remote device lock or wipe. It’s everything you need to ensure new hires are equipped and former employees are offboarded—without lifting a finger.

Instructions

Connecting Your Paychex Account to Electric

Here’s how to get started with your integration:

Step 1: Go to Electric Settings

Log into the Electric IT Hub

  1. Click your initials in the top menu

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Integrations

  4. Click the three dots in the Paychex card

  5. Click Connect Paychex

Step 2: Enter your client ID

To find your Paychex Flex Client ID:

  1. Login to Paychex Flex

  2. Navigate to Company

  3. Client ID can be found in the Summary section

  4. Return to the Electric IT Hub

  5. Enter this Client ID into the modal within IT Hub

  6. Click Continue

Client ID is an 8-digit identifier used to identify your company within Paychex Flex

Step 3: Enable Sync

To allow for information to sync from Paychex Flex, you will need to approve the integration. To approve:

This must be performed by a Client Flex Admin User.

  1. Click the Authorize Electric in Paychex button in IT Hub

  2. You will see the Electric IT Hub with an ‘Access Requested’ notice

  3. Check the ‘I’ve agreed to Third Party Terms of Use’ box

  4. Click the Approve button

If you would like to navigate to the Access Requested page within Paychex Flex:

  1. Login to Paychex Flex

  2. Navigate to Company Settings via the left menu

  3. Select Integrated apps

  4. Return to step 2 above


Disconnecting Paychex

Need to turn off the integration?

  1. Log into the Electric IT Hub

  2. Go to Settings > Integrations

  3. Select Paychex

  4. Click Disconnect
