Authentication

Introduction

Welcome to your Electric IT Hub—your command center for streamlined IT management! Getting connected is the first step to powering up your organization's IT operations. This guide will walk you through logging in to the IT Hub, securing your account with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and safely logging out when you're done.

Feature Details

Secure Access

Your IT Hub login serves as the gateway to comprehensive IT management tools, ensuring that only authorized users can access your organization's sensitive IT infrastructure and employee data.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification beyond your password. This double-check system keeps your account protected, even if your password is compromised.

Safe Session Management

Proper logout procedures ensure your account remains secure, especially when using shared or public devices.

Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Adding MFA to your account is like installing a smart lock on your IT Hub—it provides an extra layer of security that keeps unauthorized users out while making access simple for you.

To Set Up MFA:

  1. Log in to the IT Hub for the first time

  2. Choose your preferred MFA method:

    • Authenticator App (recommended): Use apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy

    • SMS/Text Messages: Receive verification codes via text ⚠️ Note: International phone numbers are not supported for SMS verification

For Authenticator Apps:

  1. Download an authenticator app on your mobile device

  2. Scan the QR code displayed in the IT Hub with your authenticator app

  3. Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app

  4. Click Verify and Enable

For SMS (US numbers only):

  1. Enter your US-based phone number

  2. Click Send Code

  3. Enter the verification code you receive via text

  4. Click Verify and Enable

Important Note: If you have an international phone number, we recommend using an authenticator app instead of SMS, as international numbers are not supported for text-based verification.

How to Log Out Safely

Logging out properly ensures your session ends securely, protecting your organization's data and maintaining system security.

To Log Out:

  1. Click on your initials in the top-right corner of the IT Hub

  2. Select Log Out from the dropdown menu

  3. You'll be redirected to the login page, confirming your session has ended

Best Practices for Secure Access
