ADP Integration

Electric is an official ADP partner.

Introduction

Ready to supercharge your HR workflow? Connecting your ADP system to the Electric creates a powerful current between your HR processes and IT management. This integration automatically syncs employee data, streamlines onboarding and offboarding, and ensures your team has the access they need from day one.

Electric integrates with RUN Powered by ADP®, ADP Workforce Now®, ADP Workforce Now® Next Generation, and ADP TotalSource®. With near real-time employee syncing and embedded lifecycle workflows (for eligible plans), you can move from manual coordination to automated lifecycle management.

Supported ADP Platforms & Purchase Options

  • RUN Powered by ADP® - For RUN customers, there are two ways to get started:

    • Option 1: Purchase the ADP Connector

      • Available in the ADP Marketplace

      • Connects your existing Electric instance to RUN

    • Option 2: Purchase the Core Electric Application

      • Essentials plan

      • Pro plan

    • Both Essentials and Pro are available for RUN customers.

  • ADP Workforce Now® and ADP Workforce Now® Next Generation

    • Free Plan

      • Available directly within your HR Dashboard in WFN or WFN NG

    • Essentials and Pro Plans

      • Must be purchased through your ADP Customer Support Representative

      • Enable embedded onboarding and offboarding workflows directly within your ADP instance

    • If you are interested in upgrading to Essentials or Pro, please contact your ADP representative for purchasing assistance.

  • ADP TotalSource®

    • Core Electric Application

      • Essentials plan

      • Pro plan

    • There is no connector purchase available for TotalSource.


What Syncs Between ADP and Electric

All supported ADP integrations include near real-time employee data synchronization.

Synced Employee Data Includes:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Role / Job Title

  • Department

  • Employment Status

  • Work Email

  • Personal Email

  • Personal Phone Number

  • Home Address

How This Information Is Used

Employee contact and home address information enables Electric to:

  • Ship hardware prior to Day 1

  • Ensure accurate delivery logistics

  • Retrieve company devices after termination

  • Communicate with employees during onboarding and offboarding

This ensures secure and automated lifecycle management from hire through termination.


ADP Single Sign-On (SSO)

Electric supports Single Sign-On (SSO) with ALL supported ADP platforms, allowing you to securely access Electric using your ADP credentials.

Logging Into Electric Using ADP

If your organization has IT Management powered by Electric enabled within ADP:

  1. Log into your ADP platform.

  2. Navigate to IT Management powered by Electric within your ADP dashboard.

  3. You will be securely authenticated and redirected into Electric without needing a separate username or password.

Alternatively, you an go to https://my.electric.ai and login with your ADP credentials.

This provides:

  • One login experience

  • Centralized access control

  • Reduced password management

  • Secure authentication tied to your ADP account

Your access level in Electric is based on your permissions and role configuration within ADP.


Instructions for Connecting or Creating your Electric Instance to ADP

RUN Powered by ADP

The Marketplace App (most customers)

  • Navigate to the ADP Marketplace

  • Locate the Electric IT Hub app

  • Complete the purchase process

  • Your Electric instance will be created

The Connector (existing Electric customers)

Step 1: Purchase the Connector
Step 2: Provide Your Electric Customer ID

During the ADP purchase flow, you will be asked for your Electric Customer ID:

  1. Log into Electric

  2. Click your initials in the top menu

  3. Select Settings

  4. Locate your Customer ID in the Company Profile section

  5. Copy this ID and enter it in ADP when prompted

Step 3: Complete Setup

Once purchased, the integration will activate and employee data will begin syncing automatically.

Accessing the Free Plan in Workforce Now or Workforce Now Next Generation

  1. Log into your Workforce Now or Workforce Now Next Generation instance

  2. Navigate to your HR Dashboard

  3. Locate IT Management powered by Electric

  4. Activate the Free Plan

If you would like to upgrade to Essentials or Pro, contact your ADP Customer Support Representative.

If you do not see a link for Electric in your HR dashboard, reach out to your ADP Customer support representative for assistance.

Purchasing Essentials or Pro for Workforce Now or Workforce Now Next Generation

Essentials and Pro plans must be purchased through ADP.

Please contact your ADP Customer Support Representative to:

  • Review pricing

  • Enable embedded onboarding and offboarding workflows

  • Activate the upgraded plan

ADP Totalsource

The Marketplace

  • Navigate to the ADP Marketplace

  • Locate the Electric IT Hub app

  • Complete the purchase process

  • Your Electric instance will be created


Disconnecting Your Integration

If You Purchased a Connector (RUN)

  1. Log into ADP

  2. Navigate to your active Marketplace purchases

  3. Stop purchasing the Electric IT Hub Connector

The integration will discontinue according to ADP billing terms.

If You Purchased the Core Application (RUN, WFN, WFN NG, or TotalSource)

  1. Log into your ADP platform

  2. Navigate to your purchased applications

  3. Stop purchasing IT Management powered by Electric

Service will end based on your ADP billing cycle and terms.


FAQs

  • How quickly does employee data sync?

    • Employee data syncs in near real time across all supported ADP integrations. When changes are made in ADP, they are automatically reflected in Electric shortly after.

  • Why does Electric need home address and personal contact information?

    • Home address and personal contact information are used to:

      • Ship hardware to employees prior to their start date

      • Coordinate device delivery logistics

      • Retrieve company-owned laptops after termination

      • Communicate with employees during onboarding or offboarding

    • This ensures secure lifecycle management from hire through termination.

  • Do I need to manage separate login credentials?

    • No. Electric supports single sign-on (SSO) through your ADP platform where applicable. Your login experience will follow your organization’s configured authentication settings.

  • What happens if an employee’s information changes in ADP?

    • When updates are made in ADP (such as role changes, department updates, or employment status changes), those changes sync automatically to Electric.

      • This ensures:

        • Application access can be adjusted

        • Security policies can be updated

        • Offboarding workflows trigger when needed

        • No duplicate data entry is required.

  • What if I do not have an ADP account to log in with for SSO?

    • If you do not have ADP credentials but have been added to Electric:

    • If your email has already been added to Electric, a secure account setup process will automatically begin. You will be prompted to create a username and password to complete your account setup.

    • If you believe you should have access but the signup process does not initiate, please contact your internal administrator or email support@electric.ai for assistance.
